How you perform in the bad frames matters more than the good ones. The mental game isn't built in the strikes. It's built in everything else.
The core belief of 12 Frames
The Core Formula
Success = Skill Interference
You already have the skill. We work on the interference.
Phrase 01 · Frames 1 + 11
"It's just bowling."
Removes the emotional overload. Strips away the false weight you put on the outcome.
Phrase 02 · Frame 5
"One shot. One cue."
Keeps attention simple under pressure. One thing to focus on. One thing to execute.
Phrase 03 · Frame 12
"What's the best thing that could happen?"
Trains the brain to expect success. Reframes pressure as possibility.
The Curriculum

Twelve frames. Twelve lessons.

Each frame in bowling maps to a specific mental performance lesson. We work each one, from the way you walk to the lane in frame 1 to what you believe is possible in frame 12.

01
Identity

Compete without attaching your self-worth to results.

The lane doesn't define you. Where the lane ends, you keep going.

02
Awareness

Recognize your mental patterns mid-competition.

The story you're telling yourself between shots. Catch it. Name it. Choose again.

03
Pressure

The physical tools that regulate everything.

Breath, posture, pace. The body comes first. The mind follows it.

04
Interference

Spot interference before it costs you a frame.

Crowd, opponent, score, lane condition, the voice in your head. Name it to defuse it.

05
Focus · Spotlight Frame

"One shot. One cue."

A single execution cue. Not three. Not "don't miss." One word, one sensation, one target. This is the most quoted line in everything I teach, and the most underused.

06
Trust

Compete with fewer conscious thoughts.

The trained body knows. Quiet the management. Let what you practiced do its job.

07
Adaptability

Be curious instead of frustrated.

The lane changed. The pattern broke. Now what? Curiosity is faster than complaint.

08
Reset

A reset routine you can run in 7 seconds.

What you do between a bad shot and the next one is the entire mental game.

09
Confidence

Build belief through evidence, not affirmation.

Receipts beat mantras. We build a list you can return to when the doubt comes.

10
Commitment · Spotlight Frame

Remove the doubt before the shot, not during it.

The 10th frame is the climax of the curriculum. Champions don't bowl through doubt. They decide before they ever step on the approach. We work the decision until it's automatic.

11
Perspective

Compete with freedom, not fear.

It's just bowling. Say it. Mean it. Watch what changes in your body the moment you do.

12
Possibility

Train the brain to expect success.

"What's the best thing that could happen?": the question that changes which neurons fire next.

The Champion Shot Routine

Five beats. Every shot. Same order.

The repeatable pre-shot sequence you'll leave with. We rehearse it until it runs without you.

1

Observe

Read the lane and your own state. What's actually true right now?

2

Decide

Pick the line, the speed, the target. Commit before you move.

3

Breathe

One full exhale. The nervous system resets to neutral.

4

Cue

Your single execution cue. The one word that locks the body in.

5

Execute

Trust the body. Watch the result. No edits mid-shot.

What you'll leave with

More than notes. A practice.

12 Frames isn't a lecture and it isn't a course. It's twelve hours of live work, with me, on your bowling and your head. And it changes how you walk to the lane.

It's the closest thing to having a mental performance coach in your back pocket, taught by someone who's actually been there.

Who this is for

Built for the individual. Not the team.

12 Frames is an individual mental-game curriculum. If you're looking for team dynamics work, see Team Coaching.

This is for you if…

  • You bowl competitively and your scores don't reflect your skill level under pressure.
  • You're a coach who wants a mental-game framework you can actually teach.
  • You're an adult athlete returning to the sport and want to compete with freedom, not fear.
  • You're a youth bowler preparing for Junior Gold, state, or a major tournament.
  • You want a routine, not just inspiration.

This is not for you if…

  • You're looking for technical bowling instruction (release, ball motion, lane play).
  • You want a one-time motivational talk and not a working session.
  • You're looking for team-building or group dynamics work.
  • You're not willing to be honest with yourself in a room with other people.
The program

Twelve weeks. Twelve frames. Just us.

12 Frames is a private program. Twelve one-hour Zoom sessions, one frame at a time, on a cadence we set together. We sync your schedule, your tournaments, and your season so the work fits your life.

Bringing 12 Frames to a team?

Coaches and program directors can book the curriculum as a custom workshop for their whole team. Different format, different pricing: sessions are billed by the hour and built around your program.

In her own words

The way a real session feels.

"I always tell my students to look at what went great, look at what could have been better, and grow from every single experience, a win or a loss. Pick up those nuggets of wisdom about your game along the way instead of thinking that if you're not the winner, it is a waste."

Common questions

Before you register.

Is 12 Frames a team workshop?
No, and intentionally so. 12 Frames is an individual mental-game curriculum. Every lesson is built around the work one athlete does inside their own head. If you want a team-dynamics session for a school team, club, or bowling center, see Team Coaching. That's a different curriculum.
What ages is this for?
The full workshop is for serious youth athletes (typically age 12+), collegiate bowlers, adult athletes, and coaches. The 2-hour Junior Gold Prep format is well-suited for ages 10+. The framework holds at any age; the depth scales to the room.
Do I need to be a competitive bowler?
No. About a quarter of the room in any given workshop is parents, coaches, and adult league bowlers. The frames map to anything you compete in: bowling is the metaphor, but the mental game work crosses over to school, work, and life.
How does the program actually run?
Twelve one-hour Zoom sessions, one frame at a time, just you and me. The cadence is up to us. We sync our calendars and plan the dates around your schedule, your tournaments, and what's coming next in your season. The whole hour is open Q&A: there's no separate "ask me anything" block, because the entire session is yours. You bring what's happening on the lanes and we work it.
What if I miss a session?
Because it's private 1:1, we just reschedule it. Life happens: tournaments, travel, family. And a missed week isn't a problem. We move it to a time that works for both of us, and you stay on the curriculum without skipping a frame.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. We can split the $1,200 across the twelve weeks: $100 per session, paid week of, or set up a 3- or 6-month plan. We work out what's right for you on the intake call.
Can I host 12 Frames at my bowling center or for my team?
Yes. I travel and run custom workshops for centers, schools, and youth programs. Group pricing kicks in at 10 seats. Send an inquiry with your group size, location, and ideal dates and I'll come back personally with options.
Do I get a worksheet?
Yes, and not just one. Most of the twelve frames come with their own customized worksheet, built around that frame's focus and your season. You'll work through them as we go, and they're all yours to keep.

Let's schedule it together.

12 Frames is a private 1:1 program: there's no calendar to scroll through. Tell me a little about you, your bowling year, and what you want to work on. I'll come back personally and we'll set the start date around your schedule.

"The mental game isn't built in the strikes. It's built in everything else."

I read every one of these myself.

The mental game is a practice, not a pep talk.

Twelve frames. One curriculum. Built from twenty years on the lane and the kitchen-floor moments in between.
